Norwich City have signed Manchester City midfielder Jacob Wright on loan with an option to buy.

The Canaries have pounced on Wright after the 19-year-old’s move to Swansea City collapsed. The loan move to Carrow Road is reportedly set to come. With an option to buy for just under £5m plus performance-related bonuses.

Norwich sporting director Ben Napper said. “We’ve been monitoring Jacob for some time and are convinced. He fits our style of play really well. We’re really excited to have him join the team.”
It’s a first loan move for the promising midfielder. Who has represented England at every level up to and including Under-20.
Joining the club, Wright said: “I’m really happy to be here, happy to get everything over the line on time.
“I’m looking forward to getting into training tomorrow and the games will be coming thick and fast.”
Sporting director Ben Knapper added: “I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to Jacob and his family.
“He is an extremely talented young player who we have been aware of and tracked for quite some time.
“We believe that his attributes and qualities, particularly in possession, are well suited to our playing style. And we’re excited to see what he can bring to our group.
Wright made his City first-team debut in a 5-0 FA Cup thrashing of Huddersfield in January 2024. And has since made three further appearances.
